Honeycomb activated carbon is a highly efficient adsorption material specifically engineered for treating high-volume, low-concentration exhaust gases, and it is widely utilized in the field of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) abatement. Produced via an extrusion molding process, this block-form activated carbon features thousands of parallel, straight-through channels within its structure, creating a regular, honeycomb-like pattern. This unique architecture endows the material with a dual advantage: the powerful adsorption capacity inherent to activated carbon, combined with extremely low resistance to airflow. As VOC-laden exhaust gas flows through these straight channels, pollutant molecules—such as benzene, toluene, and formaldehyde—are captured and immobilized by the extensive network of micropores and mesopores lining the inner walls of the activated carbon through the process of physical adsorption, thereby purifying the gas stream.
Honeycomb activated carbon is a special form of activated carbon, is popular and widely used in waste gas treatment and air purification filter. YiHang honeycomb activated carbon uses qualified mixed activated carbon powder as raw material, processing formed after high temperature activation. Different from traditional production process, YiHang use self-developed formula, patented two-step activation technology, to achieve larger VOCs adsorption volume and high desorption efficiency.
It has relatively large contact area, developed microporous structure, high adsorption capacity, the biggest characteristic of it is small wind resistance. It is usually used for exhausting gas in factories, deodorization of spray-paint room and other areas of the environmental protection.

Q: How do I select the appropriate specifications for honeycomb activated carbon for different types of VOC exhaust gases?
A: The key to selecting honeycomb activated carbon specifications lies in balancing adsorption efficiency with airflow resistance (and resistance to clogging). Simply put, the optimal pore size is determined based on the molecular size of the pollutants in the exhaust gas and the dust content.
Q: How often should honeycomb activated carbon used for exhaust gas treatment be replaced?
A: There is no fixed, absolute timeframe for replacing honeycomb activated carbon. The replacement cycle depends on factors such as the concentration of the exhaust gas, the airflow volume being treated, the quantity of activated carbon packed into the system, and the effectiveness of any pre-treatment processes.
Q: Do you support the customization of special specifications?
A: Yes, we do. We offer customization options for honeycomb dimensions, pore sizes, and packaging specifications, and we can provide third-party inspection reports upon request.
We offer free sample testing and technical guidance support. For bulk purchases, we provide customized solutions and preferential pricing; furthermore, we guarantee free returns or exchanges for any quality-related issues that arise during the warranty period.
1. Certifications: ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification; fully compliant with safety requirements for VOC exhaust gas treatment applications.
2. Case Study Highlights:
Addressing the specific challenges of automotive spray-painting exhaust—characterized by a high risk of clogging and large airflow volumes—this project adopted the following technical approach:
Process Flow:
Exhaust Gas Collection → Dry Filtration (Pre-treatment) → Honeycomb Activated Carbon Adsorption Bed → In-situ Desorption → Catalytic Combustion (CO) → Compliant Emission
Adsorption Material: Honeycomb Activated Carbon.
Low Airflow Resistance: Compared to granular activated carbon, honeycomb carbon exhibits extremely low airflow resistance, making it ideally suited for the high-airflow operating conditions typical of spray-painting booths. This feature significantly reduces the power consumption of the ventilation fans.
High Adsorption Efficiency: Leverages its massive specific surface area (≥ 750 m²/g) to effectively adsorb and concentrate VOCs present in the exhaust gas.
Professional Support: Backed by over 25 years of experience in the R&D and manufacturing of activated carbon for VOC exhaust treatment, we provide personalized, one-on-one guidance to assist you in selecting the optimal product for your specific needs.
