Made by extrusion molding into round granular shapes, Coal-based pellet/ extruded activated carbon comes in cylinder particles ranging from 1.5 mm up to 4 or 5 mm in diameter. Boasting powerful adsorption capacity and minimal dust generation, this carbon material suits diverse application scenarios. Thanks to outstanding mechanical strength, premium adsorption performance and feasible regeneration based on captured contaminants, it is widely applied for gas/air decontamination and industrial water purification.
Yihang coal-based pellet activated carbon is made from high-quality anthracite as the raw material. It is processed through crushing, batching, extrusion molding, carbonization, high-temperature steam activation, and sieving refinement. The product appears as black cylindrical particles. The product has a rich internal microporous and mesoporous structure, a large specific surface area, high mechanical strength, is not prone to powdering, has low ash content, excellent adsorption capacity, is resistant to acid and alkali, can withstand high temperatures, has low fluid resistance, and can be pressure-loaded. It is suitable for fixed-bed adsorption devices and can be washed and regenerated for repeated use. It is the mainstream adsorption consumable in water treatment, waste gas treatment, chemical purification, solvent recovery.

As the core application of this product, the carbon features high mechanical strength and balanced pore structure. It fits well for filling in various waste gas adsorption equipment and serves as standard filter media for spray towers, activated carbon adsorption boxes and exhaust adsorption towers.
With regular granular shape and low pulverization rate, the product maintains stable wind resistance under high-air-volume operating conditions. It can be regenerated repeatedly to cut down long-term consumable cost for exhaust treatment.
For advanced dechlorination, deodorization and trace organic matter removal in industrial wastewater, municipal tap water and reclaimed water reuse projects.
Recover organic solvents including benzene, acetone and ethanol via adsorption; decolor & refine chemical raw materials as well as remove impurities and sulfur from oil products.
Industrial ventilation purification, central air conditioning exhaust filtration and deodorization for waste stations.
Heap leaching gold extraction in gold smelting, catalyst carrier, heavy metal adsorption for contaminated soil remediation.
FAQ for Coal Pellet Activated Carbon
A:- Waste gas treatment: 4.0mm and 5.0mm are mainstream options, stable pressure drop and anti-pulverization for large airflow adsorption tower filling;
- Water treatment: 3.0mm is preferred; 1.5mm/2.0mm for small precision filter tanks.
Custom sizes like Φ0.9mm can be produced based on customers’ equipment demands.
A:Iodine value represents micropore development of activated carbon:
- 800~950mg/g: Applied to general deodorization, conventional waste gas disposal and basic tap water dechlorination;
- 1000~1100mg/g: Specially designed for high-concentration VOC exhaust from painting, printing and chemical industries with excellent small-molecule adsorption performance.
CTC index increases alongside higher iodine value for better solvent recovery capacity.
A:- For waste gas projects: Direct loading without pre-cleaning;
- For water treatment: Soak and flush with fresh water to remove surface fine powder to prevent pipeline clogging.
A:Average service life: 2~6 months for waste gas treatment, 3~12 months for water treatment. With hardness over 95%, our coal pellet carbon can be thermally regenerated 3~5 times after saturation to cut clients’ long-term purchasing expense.
A:Hardness ≥95% avoids fragmentation and dust leakage under strong airflow; moisture is strictly controlled below 5% at factory, lower bulk density helps customers reduce filling consumption cost.
A:Yes. Customized iodine value, ash content, particle size and bulk density are available to match local emission standards and actual working conditions.
A:Coal pellet activated carbon features high mechanical strength and competitive cost, perfectly suitable for large-scale industrial waste gas and wastewater treatment. Coconut shell activated carbon owns finer micropores yet higher cost and weaker hardness, mostly used for food-grade and drinking water fine purification.
